Nic Quinto Dip.Couns MNCIP (registered)

Person-centred counsellor and trainer

I qualified as a counsellor whilst working for the voluntary sector in mental health service provision.

After 15 years of working in this area, I transitioned to teaching and have been working in further and higher education as a counselling tutor until very recently. I now facilitate independent training for newly qualified counsellors as well as running my own private counselling practice.

As a counsellor I believe my role is to provide the right conditions for people to understand, facilitate and manage change in their lives. Change is something that affects us all. This could be to bring about a change, such as a job or a career, dealing with the end of a relationship, or to cope with feelings around an unplanned change such as a sudden or unexpected bereavement. Each person will respond differently to life's events and it is because of this diversity that I believe it is not possible to advise or suggest solutions. Instead, I believe each person is an expert in their own life and has the ability to decide what feels right, what is best. My role as counsellor is to facilitate this process so that each person gains insight into their unique situation and is able to make clear and informed decisions about their lives.

I am a concessionary member of the Person-Centred Association.

I am a registered member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists and, as such, adhere strictly to the NCIP code of Ethics. For further information about the NCIP ethical code and complaints procedure, please visit:
